Northern Isles MP Alistair Carmichael and Shetland MSP Tavish Scott commented after today’s meeting in Lerwick involving Loganair, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the SIC.
In a joint statement Alistair and Tavish said,
“The Northern Isles depend on Loganair for safe and reliable air services to Aberdeen and further afield. Too many flights have been late or cancelled. That means real disruption for passengers. Today Loganair recognised they must do better and invest in engineering that gets planes back flying as soon as possible.
“The CAA confirmed that Loganair operate a safe airline and they are helping with the reliability problems that all passengers have experienced. As part of making the service better, Loganair have to improve their communication to passengers especially when there are significant delays. If we are told what is going on and how problems are being fixed then delays are easier to live with.”
